Kayla Rose Shoemaker

Kayla Rose Shoemaker passed away Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, in her hometown of Parkersburg, WV at the age of 25. She was born to Daniel and Karen Shoemaker on December 23, 1998.

She was a hardworking mother, a daughter her parents were proud of, and a devoted friend.

Kayla began working at 16 and held various jobs, currently as a home health caregiver and delivery agent for DoorDash. She was truly a light to all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her hobbies reflected Kayla’s multifaceted personality. She enjoyed being a nurturing mother, listening to music, yoga, cooking, reading, hiking, and being with her family and friends. Kayla’s bright smile, personable nature, and goal-oriented lifestyle will be cherished by all those who loved her.

Kayla will be held in the hearts of her loved ones, son, Axell; her mother and father; sister, Megan; brother, Kyle; grandmother, Judy; aunt, Jessica; Axell’s sister, Evony; step-grandmother, Helen; and special friends, Starra, Jordon, and Pam, who deeply mourn her passing.

Sadly, her journey was cut short and she is now reunited with her maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.

Her family will receive friends 4:00 p.m. - 7 :00 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home.
