William Russell

WILLIAM C. RUSSELL William C. (Bill) Russell, husband of R. Maxine (Wigal) Russell of Belpre, Ohio passed away on March 16, 2017 at Belpre Landing, Belpre, Ohio.They were married at Parkersburg on May 21, 1949. He was born at Charleston, WV on June 10, 1928, son of the late William E. and Savilla M. (Starkey) Russell.He attended schools in Parkersburg and was a Veteran of the Korean War.He was retired from the Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Officer, employed at Zanesville and Columbus, Ohio.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, R. Maxine (Wigal) Russell and one grandson, Daniel Russell. He is survived by three sons, William E. (Rayma) of Portland, Oregon, Mark A. (Janie) of Crestline, Ohio and Michael S. (Roberta) of Harvest, Alabama, five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, a sister, Betty Ann Morehead of Belpre, Ohio, one niece and two nephews. Bill and his wife were members of the Belpre church of Christ.He enjoyed fishing and photography. There will be no service or visitation.By his preference, Bill was cremated.Burial of ashes will be in the Wigal Cemetery at Wadesville, WV. Kimes Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation.
