William Henry Ferguson

Chief William Henry “Bill” Ferguson, 69, of Parkersburg joined the Lord on February 24, 2019 after a long illness.He was born October 6, 1949 in Parkersburg to the late Philip and Helen Rapp Ferguson.He retired from DuPont as an Operator at the Power House and also worked as a Guard.He was a member of St. Francis Xavier and had obtained a two year degree in Fire Science.He taught Firefighting in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.He was Manager and gravedigger for Mt. Carmel Cemetery and other cemeteries in the Mid-Ohio Valley.He was a Fire Chief for the Blennerhassett Fire Department for twenty-five years.He joined the Blennerhassett Fire Department when he was fourteen years old in 1962 and he is still on the roster at the Fire Department making him a member for fifty six years. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Juanita Ferguson, three sons, Bill (Salena) Ferguson, Michael (Susan) Ferguson and David (Deidra) Ferguson all of Wood County, WV, Grandchildren, Josh, Jerimiah, Michaela, Hunter, Dylan and Alexandrea, Great-Grandchildren, Braelyn, Brylee, Briceton, Tanner, Cohen, Jameson, Avery, Hadley, Backham and Lorelai, six brothers, Dave (Jerry) Ferguson, Joe (Sandra) Ferguson, Jim and (Cindy) Ferguson, John (Brenda) Ferguson, Kevin (Tina) Ferguson, and Tim (Beth) Ferguson all of Parkersburg and one sister, Helen (Ron) Buskirk of Melbourne, Florida, and his dog, Henry and his cat, Tigger.The family would like to thank Housecalls Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Bill. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Becky Bonner. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday,February 27, 2019 at 10 am at St. Francis Xavier Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 2019 from 2 pm to 8 pm at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg.
