Wanda Wharton Conley

Mrs. Wanda Wharton Conley, 93, of Vienna, passed away on April 24, 2015. She was born September 22, 1921 to the late Nathan Homer and Edna Ethel Johnson Wharton in Parkersburg, WV, graduating from Parkersburg High School in 1939.She retired as church secretary at First Baptist Church in Parkersburg after 27 years of faithful service. Wanda married Charlie Conley (formerly of Spencer) on April 24, 1948.They enjoyed 45 years together until his in death in 1993. Surviving are sons, Thomas Charles Conley (Suzanne) of Enka, NC and James Homer Conley (Melanie) of Vienna; grandsons, Jeffrey Allen Conley Parkersburg, Christopher Charles Conley (Rebecca) of Weaverville NC, Nathan Thomas Conley of Greenville, NC, James Alexander Conley (Jen) of Columbus, OH and Michael Louis Conley (Jessica) of Vienna; great grandchildren, Samantha, Amanda, Trinity, and Gabrielle Conley of Weaverville, NC and Dorian James Conley of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Donald L. Wharton of Vienna. In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by a daughter, MarilynSue Conley in 2002; two sisters, Jewell L. Dreyer and Thelma Wharton and five brothers, Etsel, Willard, Harold, Dale and Ralph Wharton; a great grandson, Andrew Conley of NC. Wanda will be remembered for her devotion to the Lord, love of her family, and kindness to all. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 27th at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Rich McClure officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials are requested to Alzheimer's Association, WV Chapter.Envelopes will be provided at the funeral Home.
