Walter Clair Lockhart, 75, of Parkersburg went to be with his Lord on July 22, 2017 at Camden Clark Hospital following a brief illness.He was born in 1942 on Windy Ridge in Wirt County to the late Noel and Ida Brotton Lockhart.He graduated from Wirt County High School in 1961.He served in the Army Reserves for three years. He was a Methodist by Faith, loved fishing/hunting, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ellen Holbert Lockhart.He is also survived by his children, Sheri (Michael) Ghee, Kenneth (Sue Ann) Lockhart and Kathy (Everett) Brookover, his ten grandchildren, Eric (Aubrey) Ghee, Kimberly (Justin) Beel, Ashley (Andy) George, Chris Lockhart, Jason (Rose) Brookover, Josh Brookover and his three great-grandchildren, Keilah Beel, Brantley Brookover and Roman Ghee.He is also survived by five sisters and four brothers, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Anyone wishing to help the family with medical expenses may direct payment to Ellen Lockhart at 1007 N. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg with Pastor Bud McVey officiating.Cremation will follow.Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
