Virginia R. Roberts

Virginia Redman Roberts, 95, of Parkersburg, W.Va. died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at her home after a brief illness.Born October 3, 1922 in Meadowdale, Jackson County, W.Va., she was the second daughter of Perry Walter and Frances Waybright Redman and was a graduate of Gilmore High School, class of 1941.Virginia was a devoted mother, a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and quilting and also a bookkeeper for Roberts drilling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. (Bill) Roberts in 1990; an infant son; sisters, Audrey Coen and husband, Delbert, and Mary Shafer and husband, Burhl; nephews, William (Bill) Coen and Stephen Shafer; nieces, Patricia and Sandra Shafer. She is survived by daughters, Helen Roberts and Charlotte Roberts Wolfe and husband, Raymond of Parkersburg; a nephew, Robert Coen; a great niece; and nephews. We are grateful for the services of Housecalls Hospice of Parkersburg. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, June 1, 2108 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg.The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 11 A.M. until time of services.Burial will be in the Ravenswood Cemetery.
