Thomas James Baker, 82, of Parkersburg passed away May 19, 2019 at his residence with his family by his side.He was born October 2, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to the late James Marshall “J. M.” and Grace Elizabeth George Baker.He was a 1955 Graduate of Parkersburg High School and a member of the U. S. Air Force.He was stationed in Germany and enjoyed living and traveling Europe while there.He worked as a Millwright for Corning Glass for 39 years and wasa Lifetime Member of the Elks Lodge 198, enjoyed woodworking and was a member of Trinity U. M. Church. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Joan Parsons Baker, a son Rodney James Baker (Peggy Pitre) of Lafayette, Louisianna and a special “adopted daughter”, Lisa Gianettino of Parkersburg, WV, a sister, Dorothy Shumway of Somerset, Ohio and a sister-In-law, Roan Watson of Columbus, Ohio and four nieces and nephews in the Columbus area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Baker and a Brother-In-Law, Joe Shumway. The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their wonderful care of Thomas. The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg with Pastor Michael Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
