Thelma Law McPherson, 91, of Parkersburg, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at Eagle Pointe in Parkersburg.Mrs. McPherson was born in Lewis County, WV, a daughter of the late Lewie Goff Law and Gracie Jane Nicholson Law. As a child, along with her family, Thelma moved to Parkersburg and was educated in Wood County Schools, graduating from Parkersburg High School in 1941.She attended the Institute for Learning in Retirement at Marietta College, was a member of P.E.O. Chapter Q, the Parkersburg Woman's Club and the Blennerhassett Historical Foundation. She was past president and a long time volunteer of Friends of Blennerhassett and was a member of Stout Memorial U.M. Church.Thelma retired as a supervisor in the collection division of the Internal Revenue Service after thirty years of service. Mrs. McPherson is survived by several nieces and nephews, including; Linda and Bob Brownfield of Parkersburg, Linda and Duff Poage of Richmond, Virginia, John Law of Parkersburg, and Jerry Law of St. Louis, Missouri; several great nieces and nephews including Edward L. and Andrew M. Brownfield. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. McPherson in 1987, four brothers; Harold Law, O.G. Law, Glen Law and Maynard D. Law. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg with Reverend Dr. Paul Russell and Dr. Roger L. Smith officiating. Services will conclude with interment in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 2:00 P.M.
