It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Lynne Taylor, 70, of Parkersburg. She died Sunday, December 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her daughter, her significant other and loving caregivers.
She was born in Parkersburg on New Year ’ s Eve 1951 to Donald and Dorothy deSales (Purkey) Taylor.
She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1969 and attended Fairmont State University, studying music education. In the seventies she began her career in restaurant hospitality, working at the Point of View, Sebastians and retiring in 2018 from the Olive Garden. She loved all of the guests and had an uncanny ability to remember guest names.
Susan enjoyed covered-bridges, finding four leaf clovers, going to concerts, collecting art and making (and drinking!) wine. She loved cats and cherished the many that she had over the years. She had great style and enjoyed decorating her beautiful home, hosting parties and spending time with friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brothers, Thomas Neil and Paul Kenton Taylor.
She is survived by her daughter, Rose Creasey (Philip); son, Tommy Deegan (Jessica); significant other, Jim Heiskell; grandchildren, Rach ael Smith, Abigail Smith, Jonah Smith and Conner Deegan; great-grandchildren, Martin Weekley and Emmanuel Kennedy and a close knit circle of friends.
Her family would like to thank TLC Home Health and Amedisys Hospice for their wonderful care.
A celebration of her life will be held on December 31, 2022 (her birthday) at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-4, with a memorial service to follow.
