Sue F. Elder

Sue F. Elder, 83, of Vienna, passed away on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, in the Ohio Valley Health Care. Mrs. Elder was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Jack W. and Helen G. McHenry Gilchrist. She was a 1950 graduate of Parkersburg High School and also graduated from Mountain State Business College. Sue was a homemaker and member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Vienna, and the Women's Club. Survivors include three daughters, Joan Aders and fiance, Otis Harris, of Harrisburg, Pa., Julie Bourque and husband, Gary, of Winchester, Ky., and Jennifer Hughes of Vienna; one son, John Elder of Vienna; and seven grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 3, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Vienna, with Rev. John Gallagher as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, where a Vigil Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Services will conclude with interment in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
