Sue Ella Rye Thorn

Sue Ella Rye Thorn, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, passed away on September 8, 2024, in Parkersburg, WV.

Sue was the daughter of the late Margaret Merle Purdue and James Edgar Rye.

Sue married her lifetime husband and was going on 60 years of marriage upon her passing.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Carol and brother James.

Sue’s life will be honored by those who are left to share her memories including her husband, William Leonard Thorn; son, William Christopher (Tricia) Thorn and children, Joshua (April) and his children, Aerolynn and Aestelle, and William Christopher; daughter, Kassie Thorn (Jeremy) Corbitt and children, Reagan, Mason and Rowan; daughter, Kimberly Sue Thorn (Albright) and children, Seth Blake, Aaron Bryce (Whitney) Blake, and Samuel Rye Blake; daughter, Ashleigh (Kyle) Fox and their son Maddyx Fox; sister, Lynda (Michael) Lesnick; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Sue will be forever remembered for her empathy and compassion. Sue’s goal in life was the salvation of souls and walking a path that honored the Lord. Sue’s family will celebrate her life, knowing that upon leaving this earth Sue Ella was embraced by her Savior and heard, “Well done, good and faithful servant, come and share My happiness” Matthew 25:23.
