Shirley Ann Braham

Shirley Ann Grogan Braham, 82, of Parkersburg passed away June 14, 2020 at her residence. Shirley was born March 10, 1938 in Athens, OH; she was the youngest daughter of the late John and Margaret Sheppard Grogan. She graduated with the class of 1956 at Parkersburg High School. Shirley went to work at the Parkersburg Farmers Market two weeks after high school and worked for the WV Dept. of Agriculture until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Gihon Tabernacle EMC where she served in many different positions: Sunday School Teacher, Financial Secretary, Treasurer and a member of the choir. Left behind to cherish her memory, is her loving husband, Joe Braham; one son, Dr. Jeffery Braham (fiancé Stephanie Gibbs) of Parkersburg; two granddaughters Drs. Whitney Shakuri- Rad (Jaschar) of Morgantown and Jacqueline Hudson (Andy) of Greensboro, NC; two great grandsons, Cyrus and Darius Shakuri- Rad of Morgantown, WV; two nieces and 5 nephews; and several cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna Lloyd (Carl), Edith Morris (Everett), Judith Van Clief (Daniel); grandparents, Draper and Meredith Sheppard and William and Edna Grogan; and aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Evangelist Jeff Williamson officiating at Kimes Funeral Home 521 5th St. Parkersburg, WV 26101. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, June 15, 2020 from 2:00- 4:00 PM and 6:00- 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Amedysis Hospice at 2200 Grand Central Ave #102 Parkersburg, WV 26105 in memory of Shirley.
