Mr. Shirley Anderson, 93, of Parkersburg passed away May 22, 2016, at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born March 23, 1923, in Lauckport, W.Va., a son of the late Bud and Nettie Epler Anderson. He was a construction worker and was a lifelong member of the Labors Local Union 1085. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a U. S. Army Veteran serving in the South Pacific in WWII. He was also a member of the Trinity United Methodist Men, was an usher and served in various other committees at the church. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW and loved golfing and garage sales. He is survived by four daughters, Shirley V. McAtee of Washington, W.Va., Susan D. (Jeff) Delaney of Hockingport, Ohio, Sharon L. (Ed) Williams of Prospect Hill, N.C., and Marcia K. (Bob) Buskirk of West Melbourne, Fla.. Also surviving is his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Bob Anderson, and another brother-in-law John Spiker, nine grandchildren, Jeff (Teresa) McAtee, Mark McAtee, Jay McAtee, David Delaney, Chris (Annie) Delaney, Mandy (Dave) Thompson, Andy (Bailey) Williams, Katie (Ed) Gerhardt and Nicole Buskirk, ten great-grandchildren, Ashley (Paul), Jenna (Cody), Zach, Maggy, Hayden, Ivy, Ty, Jake, Harper and Mimi, three great-great-grandchildren, Peyton, Reed, and expected Baby Girl Aubree and his beloved cat, Miss Kitty, several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Margaret Currey Anderson, a brother, Kermit Anderson and a sister, Reva Anderson Williams and son-in-law, Jerry McAtee. Special thanks to Cindy Deem and her TLC staff, especially Jessie and Tamara. Also thanks to Camden Clark Medical Center 5N, nurses and patient care and Dr. Dube for all their care and kindness. Also thanks to Hospice, Helen and Bobbie Jo and Sue for their kindness for our father at the end of his life. Friends and Family are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Trinity U.M. Church with the Rev. Michael Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, and one hour prior to the funeral on May 26, 2016, from 10-11 a.m. at Trinity U.M.
