Sheila Jean Deems

Sheila Jean Deems, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away peacefully Friday, June 4, 2021 at Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born March 21, 1947 in Pomeroy, Ohio, a daughter of the late George H. and Helen M. King Hicks. Sheila was a homemaker and enjoyed watching western movies and the inspiration channel on television and planting flowers in her younger years.Sheila was a member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Courtney B. Janssen (Patrick) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a step-son, Gregory S. Collins (Tiffany) of Hixson, Tenn.; a sister, Crestlyn R. Hill (Paul) of Racine, Ohio; three grandchildren, Lex D. Hinton, Georgia N. Janssen and Gracelyn P. Janssen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry David Deems. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at the Vaughan-Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street, Parkersburg officiated by Gregory S. Collins.Services will conclude with burial in Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 6th from 5 – 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
