Sharon Lynn Midcap Armour

June 14, 1944 — December 13, 2022

Sharon Lynn Midcap Armour, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Stonerise Parkersburg, after a long battle with dementia.

Born June 14, 1944, a daughter of the late Clarence and Roxie Elson Midcap, she graduated from Parkersburg High School.

Sharon worked as a clerk for Hills and J.C. Penney before entering the Home-Health field caring for individuals and she volunteered at Camden Clark Hospital. She was an avid PHS Big Red fan, especially of football, and a Pittsburgh Steeler fan, an Elvis fan and she enjoyed playing Bunko with her friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Brenda L. Hickman of Parkersburg; two grandchildren, David Hickman (Brooke) of Parkersburg and Briana Hickman of Indiana; and six great grandchildren, Camden, Lennox, Logan, McKenna, Damien, and Mikey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leonard Armour; three sisters, Zelma Haught, Garnet James, and Linda Rader; two brothers, Paul Midcap, and Delbert “Bob” Midcap; infant great-granddaughter, Marley Hickman and friend & caregiver, Tony Burke.

The Armour family would like to extend special thanks to the nursing staff of Stonerise Parkersburg.

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Sharon’s family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. until time-of-service Tuesday at the funeral home.

In honor of Sharon’s passion for sports, the family suggests wearing sports themed shirts for her services.
