Sarah Bell Cheuvront

Sarah Bell Cheuvront, 87, of Parkersburg passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Camden Clark Medical Center.

She was born March 11, 1937, in Fairmont, West Virginia,  a daughter of the late David S. and Mildred Nuzum Elder.

Sarah had worked for Nashua Photo. She was an avid collector and enjoyed flowers, painting, and traveling to the beach, especially Ocean City, Maryland.

She was a devoted wife to Dorsey G. Cheuvront whom she married in 1953. Their 70-year marriage was Sarah’s proudest achievement.

In addition to her husband, she will be carried in the hearts of her children, Dorsey Cheuvront Jr. (Becky Bergen), Michaele Rhodes (Chet), Deric Cheuvront (Shelley), and Missy Hanley (Roger); sister, Betty Lou Tennant (Jim); grandchildren, Spencer Rhodes (Tricia), Sarah Hanley, Abi Bullington (Chad), Trent Cheuvront, Ainsley Abruzzino (Kolby), Bishop Rhodes, Mason Rhodes, and Laura Kate Hanley; and great-grandchildren, Holden Abruzzino and twin girls, Camille and Madeline Rhodes.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Paul Elder and David Elder; four sisters, Patty Bundy, Peg Cianfrocca, Maryanne Pica, and Sharon Graziani; grandson, Garrett Rhodes; and great-grandson, Avery Rhodes.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home. Services will conclude with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Cheuvront family will receive friends 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
