Robert Edwin Kieffer

April 13, 1927 — December 5, 2016

Robert E. "Bob" Kieffer, 89, of Vienna, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 at The Arbors in Marietta after a brief illness.He was born at Murraysville, WV a son of the late Paul E. and Anna R. King Kieffer. Bob was a USMC veteran of World War II and retired as a supervisor from DuPont after thirty seven years of service.He was a member of Wayside U.M. Church in Vienna and Vienna Lodge #172 A.F.& A.M. Bob never met a stranger and was known for his kind and friendly manner.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling on his ATV, horses and the cowboy way of life. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah L. Fowler and husband Carl of Minoka, Illinois and Lou Ann Jones and husband Darryl of Archer City, Texas; three grandchildren, Vicky Carey, Robbie Werner, and Nicole Kieffer; five great grandchildren and one great- great grandson; one daughter in law, Sandra J. "Sandie" Snell Kieffer and special friends, Ralph and Pat Welden of Vienna. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Onalee Sheppard Kieffer in 2007; his son, Jeffery Paul Kieffer in 2013; a daughter in law, Carol Daugherty Kieffer and one sister Jean Kieffer. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Reverend Greg A. Markins officiating.Services will conclude with interment in the Sunset Memory Gardens with full military rites presented by Post 15 American Legion Parkersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Sunday. For those considering an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Wayside U.M. Church Building Fund.
