Robert Leroy Casto

Robert Leroy Casto, 82, of Williamstown, died tragically in a farming accident, on September 13, 2016, while doing what he loved, tinkering with his tractor. Bob was born January 14, 1934 on Waverly Road in Williamstown, West Virginia. He was the sixth child of Brasky and Bertha McIntire Casto. He retired from Fenton Art Glass after 46 years starting as a janitor and ending as a skilled glass artisan. In his retirement, he became a helping hand to his best friend, and “adopted” son, John Hartford, at John’s Small Engine Repair. His favorite pastimes were working on his tractors, tinkering with toys and watches, mowing his farm and enjoying his family. He had a special relationship with two of his best buddies, great-granddaughters Akaya Bodie and Fiona Boggs. He is survived by his devastated family; siblings Walter, Leonard and Lenora Casto, and Norma Morgan; daughters Ruth Gum, husband Steve,children James and wife, Barbara, and Erin Moore, and Wayne and Isaac Triplett, and grandchildren Noah, Jessika and Jaxson; Cindy Heilman, husband Joe, and sons Nicholas and wife Amy, and Jeremy Wintz, and grandchild, Benjamin; Charletta “Kaye” Boggs, husband Guy, children Amber and Nathan Boggs, and Brianna and husband, James Bodie, and grandchildren Akaya and Fiona; Regina Alvarez, sons Adam and Andrew Alvarez, wife Nicki, and granddaughter Josselyn; and daughter-in-law, Marlene Malson, children Chris and Wife Andrea, and Elizabeth Malson, and grandchildren Ashley, Josh and Zackary. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna Deane Knopp Casto; son David Malson; brothers Warren “Bud,” Brasky Jr., and Richard “Dick” Casto, and sister Bertha “Sis” Morrow. Friends and Family are invited to attend funeral services at 11:00 Am, Saturday September 17, 2016 at Kimes Funeral Home 521 5th St Parkersburg with his son in law Pastor Joseph Heilman, officiating, burial will follow at the Mt Zion MethodistCemetery, Roane County. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pmFriday September 16, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family would love for you to write down a memory of Bob to share. We would like to make a keepsake book of the memories.
