Pauline “Polly” Roberta (Blankenship) Runion, 87, of Boaz was called home by her Heavenly Father on July 26, 2019 after a short stay at Cedar Grove Personal Care Home. She was born in Parkersburg on Jan 5, 1932, the daughter of John H.”Hank” and Margaret “Helen” (Corbitt) Blankenship. She is survived by seven children, Dennis W. and his wife Jean Fleming of Wilkesborough, NC;Drenda (Fleming)and her husband Arty Hugginsof Flemingsburg, KY;Randy A. and his wife Stephanie FlemingMacksburg, OH;Robin C. (Fleming) and her husband Gary Conger of Walker;WV;Byron K. and his wife Rayne Griffith ofGoshen, IN;James P. “JP” and his wife Kelly Griffith ofSaluda, NC;Jeremy C. and his wife Lori Griffith of Fairfield PA and her beloved 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her step-children Robert Runion II and his wife Sheryl of Parkersburg, WV;Suzette (Runion) and her husband Dan LaRue of Parkersburg, WV; and Sherry (Runion) and her husband Kenny Sprouse of Cocoa, FL. She also is survived by her sister Nancy Davis of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Polly as her friends and family called her, Mommy to her Kids, loved spending time with any of the family when they could get up to her home in Boaz to see her. She would always offer her visitors a “Bite to eat” before you left and then a heartfelt “Glad to see you, come back again” when you left. She loved tell stories about “Mommy and Daddy” or her Children and Grand Children. She was proud of all of them and had a sparkle about her when they came home. Her laugh was infectious and her love unending. She was united in marriage three times, William Fleming, Elbert “Pete” Griffith, and Robert G. “Bob” Runion, all of whom preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents, one brother Delmont Blankenship and three sisters, Mary Reed, Juanita Mathers, Dorothy Miracle and a step-daughter Bobette Watkins. The Family would like to thank the Staff of Cedar Grove Personal Care Home for making her comfortable in her final days. Services will be held at Kimes Funeral Home at 521 5th Street, Parkersburg WV on Tuesday, July 30th at 6 PM, with visitation from 5 PM till time of the Funeral.
