Patty Jean Mitchell Richards

Patty Jean Mitchell Richards, 78, of Vienna, West Virginia passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, her favorite day of the week, January 26, 2025, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, West Virginia.

She was born on “Sweethearts Day” February 14, 1946, in Wood County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Raymond and Dollie Mitchell.

Patty was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Vienna where she was dearly loved. She retired from Camden Clark Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Russell, and William Mitchell; one sister, Betty Leasure; and cousin, Chuck Leisure.

She is survived by one brother, Harold Mitchell of Parkersburg; special “sister” Sandy Murphy Bond of Vienna, WV; special friends and caregivers, Robin Finnie, Precilla Tenney, and Becky Berry; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Patty’s Homegoing will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street, Parkersburg, with Pastor Marty Fullerton and Pastor Brian Leversee officiating. Service will conclude with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
