Ottis Dwight Davis

Ottis Dwight Davis, 61, of Parkersburg, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Monday, March 24, 2025.

He was born in Marietta, Ohio, a son of Ottis Daniel and Donna Lindsey Davis of St. Marys, West Virginia.

As a youth, Dwight worked to attain the Eagle Scout award. He was the 1981 salutatorian graduate of St. Marys High School and went on to obtain his baccalaureate from West Virginia University in 1986. Dwight then began his career at Cytec, retiring with DHL as Senior Vice President of North America Operations. He also made time to serve as an Angel Mentor with Cleveland Clinic since 2017 and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

His memory will be carried by his wife, Samantha Lott Davis; sons, Devin Davis (Rachel Marteney) and Austin Davis; children, Max Poole, Emilea Farrar (Nick Jennings), Lindsey Wilson (Tyler), Danielle Carmody, and Hank Poole; sister, Denise Thomas (Don); nieces and nephews, Preston Padden and Emma Padden; uncles, Gary F. Henline (Anna) and David Lee Henline (Jean); and faithful pet companions, Teddy, Buggy, and Punkin.

Dwight was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Duckworth officiating. Services will conclude with interment in Evergreen North Cemetery. His family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025, and one hour prior to service Friday at the funeral home.
