GENE WAYBRIGHT Otis Eugene Waybright, 80, of Washington, WV passed away January 19, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.He was born July 9, 1937 in Gay, WV to the late Virginia McCullough.Gene had retired from G. E. Plastics in 1992 with 25 years of service and had been ordained in 1978 as an American Baptist Minister servingvarious churches retiring from Sunrise Baptist Church on Hill Street.He was also a U. S. Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Doris Jean Waybright, one son, Stanford Eugene (Debbie) Waybright of Portsmouth, Ohio and one daughter,Stephane Jean (Randy) Buskirk of Charleston, WV, his adopted daughter and caregiver, Sue (Tim Hathaway) of Lubeck, WV, his grandchildren, Mike (Erica) Mathess, Elysia Mathess, Richard (Amanda) Mathess, Adam (Shalimar Wilder) Mathess, Kimi (Jeff) Snider, Sherry (Jason) Waybright, Sami King, Angela (Adam) Bennett, Ayla (Alante) Blocker, Serena (Austin) Peano, Kyle (Becki) Buskirk, Jeremy Buskirk, great-grandchildren, Chase and Kage Mathess, Autumn (Matt) Morris, Izaak Morris, Emilee Morris, Annabella Mathess, Jada Peyton, Braidyn Snider, Taylor, Maddie and Sophie Waybright, Summer, Alex and Bella King, A. J. Blocker and Xavier Peano, great-great grandchildren, Carder Fiest and Marlee Landers, one brother, Max Knopp of Florida and his “killer dog” Smokey. The Family would like to thank the staff of Amedysis Hospice and a special thank you to Sarah Hoosier for being by their side all week. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lubeck Community Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Houser officiating.Friends and Family may gather from 10:00 am until service time at the church.Inurnment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Ripley, WV.
