Nathan Eugene Davis

March 15, 1955 — November 9, 2013

Nathan Eugene Davis passed away on Saturday, November 9th at the age of 58. He was born in Parkersburg 3/15/55. His parents were Patricia Donaway Davis and Earl Davis. He was the best father, husband and friend. That calm, gentle soul is now at peace after dealing with a fast paced illness. He went to PHS, class of 73, where he loved playing football. He joined the Air Force and then received his bachelors degree at Salem College. He taught at Bluefield State College and worked in Health Care at St. Joseph Hospital, Mt Carmel Medical Center, Adena Regional Medical Center, Palm Beach Gardens and Port St. Lucie, Florida. He started out as an XRay tech which led him into directing Cardiac Cath Labs and was honored by being able to be in on ground breaking technology and equipment with Electro Physiology and Cardiac Catheterization. He made it full circle back to Parkersburgwhere he was happy to be close to his family and friends in the area. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Frances Coyne-Davisand 4 Beautiful loving daughters. Shyrel Lynn Bauer (Craig) of Blacklick, Ohio, Emily Alyce Davis of Columbus Ohio, Daryen Patryce Davis of Beckley, Wv, Bryanna Faye Davis at home,and 3 beautiful granddaughters, Tiara Davis, Makayla Davis and Trinity Bauer all of Blacklick, Ohio. In addition, he is survived by his Aunt Marjorie Booker, Donna Rickert, Debbie Fields. Several Cousins and nieces and nephews, brothers, Jason, Kenny, Earl, Deric , Warren and Jason Davis, Sisters Constance Campbell, Michelle Brown. He was also blessed with several inlaws or bonus family members. A special thanks to the Daugherty kids, brothersJason and Ed Hannan and others who were constantly there for Nathan to help him through the last few months, and Aaron Harvey for helping him make a last impression. A celebration of Nathan’s life will be Saturday evening at 6 pm at Sumner Historical School. This is just as Nathan wanted with memories, music and dancing. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg, House Calls Hospice or Children’s Home Society of WV, Parkersburg.
