Michael Ray Mcelwee

Mike McElwee, 69, of Murphytown passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 at Camden Clark Medical Center due to a sudden heart attack. He was born May 25, 1951 at Perkins, W.Va. a son of the late William J. and Carrie A. Long McElwee. Mike was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and had worked production at O’Ames. He was a retired bus driver with the Wood County School System. He is survived by his son, Joseph “Joey” G. McElwee of Murphytown; three sisters, Claris Robinson (Glenn) of Doylestown, Ohio, Billie Jo Lucas (Harold) of Akron, Ohio and Vera D. Wilson of Parkersburg; one brother, James McElwee (Beverly) of Florida; two grandchildren, Cammer Bolen and Elaina Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Jennifer G. Jones McElwee in 2000. A private family graveside service will be held at Farson Cemetery, Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020.A celebration of Life service will announced at a later date.
