Maxine S. Hickman

Maxine S. Hickman, 94, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Wednesday October 23, 2019 at Camden Clark Medical Center. Maxine was born July 8, 1925 in Ritchie County, WV and is the daughter of the late John Swadley and Bonnie Nutt Swadley. Maxine was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and is retired from DuPont with 33 years of service. Maxine loved her family, attending church and watching the Cincinnati Reds and West Virginia University Mountaineers. Left behind to cherish her memory, is her son John Hickman Jr. (Janet) of Parkersburg; two grandsons, John Hickman III (Jessica) of Parkersburg and Joseph L. Hickman of Morgantown, WV; two great grandchildren, Phillip and Cecelia; one sister, Leona Bolton of East Liverpool, OH; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Hickman; two brothers, Leo and Brooks Swadley; three sisters, Mary Boggess, Rose Metz, and Donnis Hill. Funeral services will be Friday October 25, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Kimes Funeral Home 521 5th Street Parkersburg, WV 26101 with Reverend Tom Gribble officiating. Burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 until time of the service.
