Mary Lou Mercer

Mary Lou Mercer, 88, of the Wyngate Senior Living Community, Vienna, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019. Mrs. Mercer was born March 24, 1930 in Wood County a daughter of the late James Curtis Smith and Anna L. Brookover Smith.Her husband of forty eight years, Donald G. Mercer preceded her in death November 08, 2012. Mrs. Mercer was a 1947 graduate of PHS and retired from the Parkersburg Sanitary Board. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors include three nieces, Earlene Carpenter, Mary Beth Byers and Linda Robinson; one nephew, Curtis Moore. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers in law, Rita and Earl Boston, Helen and Lowell Moore and one infant brother. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Jon Lands officiating.Friends are invited to visit from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday.Services will conclude with interment in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity.
