Mary Helen Humphrey, 89, formerly of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Kimes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Athens, Ohio. She was born March 7, 1930 at Long Bottom, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles Virgil and Wilma Audrey Whiteside Buckley. Mary was an especially skilled homemaker and was extremely devoted to her family.She was a member of the Belpre Church of Christ. She is survived by her children, Amy Lou Fortney of Athens, Thomas L. Humphrey and wife, Maidella, of Parkersburg and Timothy M. Humphrey of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, Matthew L. Humphrey and wife, Marin, Eric S. Humphrey, Scott D. Humphrey, Timothy K. Humphrey, Channing Fortney and Alexandra Fortney; four great-grandchildren, MaxwellHumphrey, AxelHumphrey, Collin Humphrey and Belle Humphrey; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lee Humphrey, in May, 1999; two sisters, Phyllis B. Ayers and infant Darline Buckley; and three brothers, Paul, Keith and Howard Buckley. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, November 25, 2019 at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens with Ronald D. Laughery officiating.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg prior to the graveside services.
