Date and Time of Service: Saturday, August 10, 2013 3:00 P.M. posted 8/8/2013 at 2:53:51 PM Margaret May Waide, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away August 7, 2013 in the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus. She was born in Yorkshire, England on October 20, 1934, a daughter of the late William and Martha Walton. She attended Catholic schools where she enjoyed track and swimming. Mrs. Waide joined the Women’s Royal Air Force in 1951 and served for three years. She met her husband, Phillip D. Waide, a U.S. serviceman and they married in 1953. They came to the U.S. in 1955 and were stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington State. In 1963 they came to Parkersburg and she began employment with St. Josephs Hospital where she made many lifelong friends. She retired in 1997 after thirty four years of service. One of Margaret’s most treasured accomplishments was becoming a citizen of the United States in 1976. Her hobbies include gardening flowers, reading, and walking with friends.She also enjoyed her many furry friends, including Buddy. In addition to her husband of fifty nine years, Phillip D. Waide, she is survived by two daughters, Susan Cremeans of Parkersburg and Debra Johnston (Jim) of Belpre; one son, Phillip R. Waide (Jane) of Parkersburg; two granddaughters, Ashley Waide and Alyssa Johnston; two grandsons, Michael and Richard Cremeans; two brothers, William Walton (Anna) of Germany and Robert Walton (Sharon) of England; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until time of service. Memorials are requested to the Humane Society of Parkersburg.
