Lisa Michele Gianettino, 55, of North Parkersburg, WV, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at her mother’s home during her courageous battle with cancer.She was born June 29, 1965, in Clarksburg WV, a daughter of the late Jimmie Gianettino and Susan Gianettino.Lisa worked at the WVUP for 29 years as a Senior Staff Librarian.Lisa was the eldest child of Jimmie and Susan.She was a 1988 graduate of Fairmont State College and went on to obtain her master’s degree from the University of South Carolina in 1995.Lisa was a faithful attender and choir member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Parkersburg, and a member of the Lamberts Run United Methodist Church in Harrison County West Virginia.She was also an active lifetime member and held various offices in the local Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Chapter.Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of this year, underwent surgery in March, and had begun months of chemotherapy treatments. Lisa passed unexpectedly Sunday.She loved to sing, spoil her nieces, and enjoy spending time with her boyfriend.Lisa is survived by her mother, Susan Gianettino of South Parkersburg, WV; her brother, Alan Gianettino of Sunbury, OH; her sister-in-law Christy Gianettino of Sunbury, OH; her 3 nieces Kensey Gianettino, Ella Gianettino, and Mia Gianettino of Sunbury, OH; and her boyfriend Eric Yoder of Sugarcreek, OH. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all medical personnel for the loving care that they provided to Lisa over the past several months, and to the first responders who tried their hardest to revive Lisa Sunday.We will be forever grateful. Visitation hours will be on Friday, August 28, 2020, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Kimes Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV on Saturday, August 29, 2020, by invitation only to respect CDC guidelines. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Lisa’s memory to Trinity United Methodist Church.
