Kenneth “Pap” Watson, 88, of Waverly, WV passed away June 5, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born July 23, 1927 in Gilmer County, WV, a son of the late Avery and Opal Powell Watson.He was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church and worked in the Maintenance Department at O’Ames for 44 years.He served in the U. S. Army in WWII and was a member of Williamstown American Legion Post 159. He was a member of the WV Cattlemen Association, the WV Charolais Association, was also owner of Watson Charolais producing registered Charolais cattle for over 40 years.He loved showing his cattle at various fairs in WV and OH. He is survived by one son, Kenneth “Eddie” (Cheryl) Watson of Walker, WV, one daughter, Barbara (Kevin) Roberts of Waverly, WV two grandchildren, Rena (Tim) Stewart of Waverly, WV, and Christina (Matt) Perkins of Vienna, WV, four great-grandchildren, Justin and Brooke Stewart, Austin and Kaitlyn Perkins, one brother, WadeAdams of Morgantown, WV and two sisters-in-law,Etheleene (Ray) Linch of Vienna, and Glenna Willis of Waverly, several nieces and nephews and his special caregiver, Janet Gemmer of Marietta, OH. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Arleene Willis Watson, two brothers, Donald and Jack Adams, and one sister, Naomi Jean Cutlip. Friends and Family are invited to the Funeral Service on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Randy Dornan officiating.Burial will follow at Willow Island Cemetery with Military Services.Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 2 pm to 8 pm also at Kimes Funeral Home. Memorial Donations may be made in Kenneth’s name to the Humane Society of Parkersburg or Amedysis Hospice Service.
