Kenneth Lamar Rippeon, 78, of Sandyville, W.Va., formerly of Westminster, Maryland passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio. He was born January 5, 1936 in Frederick, Maryland, a son of the late Wilmer C. and Marian L. Tregoning Rippeon. Kenneth was a U.S. Army veteran and Methodist by faith.He was a retired hand painter with 35 years of service with the 3M Company.He and his wife owned and operated R&R Antiques for 30+ years.He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2226 and the VFW Littlestown Post 6954.He enjoyed golfing with his friends at Cedar Ridge Golf Course. He is survived by his wife, Eugenia F. Stern Rippeon; one son, Melvin C. Rippeon (Cathy) of Sandyville, W.Va.; two sisters, Winifred Trussell of Gettysburg, Pa. and Patsy Olsen (Clifford) of Smyrna, Delaware; one brother, Carl Rippeon (Helen) of Bel Air, Maryland; one grandson, Melvin C. Rippeon, Jr.; special friends, Gail Minovich, Sharon Miller, Carly Parrish and Pat Fox; many special golfing buddies; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Hoffman; and one brother, Wilmer Rippeon. Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, W.Va.
