Katherine “Katie” Rose Tedrick Jett, 33, journeyed off onto her next great adventure on June 12, 2019 after a short battle with hepatic and bone cancer. Katie was born January 19, 1986 to Roberta and the late Philip Tedrick of Parkersburg. She was a 2003 graduate of Parkersburg High School; she attended WVU at Parkersburg and later West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. She graduated from Wood County School of Practical Nursing in 2018. Katie was previously employed by The Daily Advocate in Greenville, OH; The Berry Company in Miamisburg, OH; The News & Sentinel in Parkersburg, WV; The Bulletin Board in Parkersburg, WV; and finally, Parkersburg Correctional Center in Parkersburg, WV as a Correctional LPN.Katie loved painting and did many pictures for her children. She had a great sense of humor and made many people laugh.She was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers but above all she was a wonderful and devoted mother.She also had a blog about her journey with cancer on facebook. In addition to her mother, Roberta, she is survived by her fiancé, Warren Porter, of Parkersburg; former husband, Kevin Jett, of Parkersburg; son and daughter, Konnor Brantner and Kensington “Kensie” Rose of Parkersburg; former father-in-law, Carroll Jett, of Parkersburg; brother, Kirk Mills (Tammy) of Parkersburg; nephew, Cody Mills of Parkersburg; 2 nieces, Nicole Kinnison (Kevin), of Parkersburg & Kristen Lough (Greg) of Vienna; 2 great nieces, Ellie Kinnison of Parkersburg and Emberlynn Lough of Vienna; great nephews, Graycen Kinnison of Parkersburg, Brenden Lough of Vienna & several aunts, uncles & cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, the late Robert B. and Rose L. Tedrick, and maternal grandparents, the late M. Arnold and Mary E. Cheatham. A celebration of life will be held for Katie on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 6 pm at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg with an hour prior for family and friends to visit. Private family graveside services will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to the Wood County Society, 1411 Grand Central Avenue #8, Vienna WV, 26105 in honor of Konnor & Kensington Jett.
