Karen D. Haga, 67, of Cairo, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 19, 2016 from Belpre Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation, Belpre, Ohio. Karen was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of Catherine T. Heppler McCollum of Nutter Farm in Ritchie County and the late Ralph D. McCollum. She was a 1967 graduate of the former Cairo High School where she served as Valedictorian and was a licensed hairdresser.Karen and her husband owned and operated The Filling Station at Cairo.She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, oil painting and creating stained glass. In addition to her mother, Karen is survived by her husband of forty six years, Clarence "Pete" Haga; one daughter, Kelly Haga and one son, Alan Haga both of Cairo; one sister, Sue Ann Wingrove (Dean) of Belpre, Ohio; one half-sister, Ann Lewis (Jud) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; two half-brothers, Russell McCollum and Gary McCollum (Joyce) all of California; three grandchildren, Louden, Avery, and Brittany (Jesse); two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Victoria; and special friends, Michele, Tammy and Deb. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Services will conclude with graveside rites and interment at 2:30 P.M. in the Cairo I.O.O.F. Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home and on Friday, one hour prior to service.In lieu of flowers please consider memorials to the Cairo Fire Department or Cairo Alumni Assoc.
