John Edward Woomer

John E. Woomer, 79, of Parkersburg passed away May 5, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.He was born in Parkersburg, the son of the late John H. and Ora Woomer.He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra K. Woomer and one sister, Janet Sue Norton.John served in the army from 1963 to 1965.He worked several plant jobs over the years, finally retiring from Walker Wiremold.He spent many of his days on the golf course, and watching Cincinnati Reds baseball.His family will remember him as the kind, fun, loving man that enjoyed every minute spent with them.He is survived by one daughter, Tina Staten andher husband (which he considered a son), Dave Staten; three grandchildren, Kristin Staten, John Staten, Brittny Staten; six great-grandchildren, Jayden Carvell, Ryleigh Staten, Tyler Staten, Ethan Goodnight, Maddie Goodnight, and John Goodnight.The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Marietta Memorial Hospital and the Willows for the care that was given to him.Per his request, there will be no memorial service.Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg is assisting the family with cremation.Online condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.kimesfuneralhome.com
