John Randolph Webb of Parkersburg weighed anchor and set sail across the bar from this, his earthly home, to that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the age of 86, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg. He was a son of the late John D. and Opal L. Randolph Webb. Johnny graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1957 and was a member of the reunion committee. He joined the United States Navy in August of 1957 and retired from the Navy Reserves March 3, 1983. On July 5, 1963, he was joined in marriage to the love of his life, Senta Marie Wagner-Webb, and they shared 48 1/2 years of love until her death on January 12, 2011. In September of 1966 he started as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service and retired as Postmaster of Paden City, West Virginia in June of 2000. He served as a past Master Councilor Parkersburg, Chapter Order of DeMolay 1957; member of Vienna Lodge 172 AF & AM, Scottish Rite, Knights Templar #3, Ben Bay Grotto, Nemesis Shriners, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #14, lifetime member VFW Post 1212 and American Legion Post 86; lifetime member of Kiwanis International; and in December of 1966 Johnny started portraying Jolly Old man from the North Pole, visiting homes, churches, hospitals, schools, and private business parties. From 1962 to 1970, he held a SCCA National Racing license and FIA. He raced a TR-3 Triumph and was competition director for the Northern Region of SCCA. He is survived by his daughter, Senta Marie Webb Provost (John) of California; grandsons, Aaron J. West, John G. Provost, and Gavin H. Provost; granddaughter, Jessica Marie Lucas (Alex); great grandchildren, Braydon M. Webb, Allie Lucas, and Gage Lucas; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Wigal Webb; brother-in-law, Ken Malchiodi; and special “daughter” AFS exchange student, Pala Konrads Dottir (Agnar) and her three sons, Konrad, Magnus, and Pall; her daughters, Anna and Harpa; and her great-grandchildren, Agnar, Soley, and baby girl. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Harland Webb; sister, Patricia Rose Webb Malchiodi; grandparents; and aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kiwanis International Foundation. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 15. Johnny’s family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services Friday.
