Janet H. Frazier

Janet Halbert Frazier, 90, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Eagle Pointe, Parkersburg. Janet was born March 25, 1924 at Munday, Wirt Co., W.Va., a daughter of the late I.P. and Anna Phillips Halbert.She was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. Janet was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and Mt. State Business College.She was the district representative for Congressman Robert Mollohan and later, for Alan Mollohan retiring in 1985.She had been a secretary at Jefferson School and had been a member of the Wood Co. Senior Citizens Board of Directors, WV Silver Haired Legislature, (where she was the first female Senate President), National Silver Haired Congress, WV Bureau of Senior Citizens (State Chairman for 20 yrs.) and the White House Conference on Aging. She is survived by two sons, Craig C. Frazier (Connie) of Washington, W.Va. and Bradley S. Frazier (Debbie) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Matthew Frazier of Parkersburg, W.Va., Mark Frazier of Holly Springs, N.C., Dustin Frazier of London, England and Luke Frazier of Washington, D.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Charles West Frazier, Jr.; two brothers, Clifford Halbert and Jack Halbert; and three sisters, Eva Boso, Hazel Dulaney and Bernice Ashby. Funeral Services will be 1 P.M., Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg.Reverend James Martin will officiate and interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.The family will receive friends from 11 A.M.to 1 P.M., Tuesday at the funeral home.
