Jane Forrester Lanham Fuller, 87, one of Parkersburg’s originals passed away on Sunday evening, June 2, 2019 in Parkersburg.She was born in Parkersburg, February 19th 1932 ~ fourth child of Elwood E. Lanham and Eleanor E. Boger.She graduated from Parkersburg High in 1950.Jane soon thereafter went to Washington D.C. where she met her future husband, Stanley R. Fuller, originally from Maine, and a WWII Veteran.They both worked as civilians for the U.S. Marine Corps at the Navy Annex in Arlington, Virginia. They were married in 1953, had five children together and raised their family in Northern Virginia.She returned to Parkersburg in 1975 after tragedy struck the family, and raised her three youngest sons as a single mother.She took care of several people, became Secretary for Wood County Senior Citizens and after training was employed by Community Care of Senior Citizens, retiring at age 70. Jane was lifetime member of the D.A.R. (Wood County Chapter), as was her Mother and is her daughter, Cheryl (Cameo Club members).She has long been a member of the Wood County Historical and Preservation Society. Her father was a city Pharmacist, veteran of WWI, and whose mother was a Phelps, descendant of Hugh Phelps and Capt. James O’Neill, founding residents of Parkersburg.Her Grandfather, Dr. Cyrus Maxwell Boger, was a nationally prominent, turn of the century physician, and is internationally recognized today.He had a medical practice on 7th Street and his homestead, historically preserved, still anchors the neighborhood developed from his land once known as “Boger Park” (adjacent to the now Washington Ave. Historic District).Her sister, Juliet (Miller), also of Parkersburg, just passed away December (2018) at age ninety.Jane was predeceased by her other siblings, William (Bill) and Paul, making her the last surviving member of her immediate family.All were graduates of Parkersburg High School. Jane was a member of the St. Andrews Methodist Church and active there in United Methodist’s Women. She was a very observant practitioner of her faith her entire life.She leaves behind all five of her children:Wayne D. Fuller of Tacoma, Washington (and wife Anita), Cheryl F. Bragg of Northern Virginia (husband, Jeff), Carlton E. Fuller (wife, Brenda), Peter A. Fuller (caretaker of his Mother for many years), both of Parkersburg and Sean M. Fuller of Winchester, Virginia (wife, Joy).As well as her grandchildren:Duane, Rose (and husband Ryan Hopkins) Jonathan, Katharine, and Savannah, and her treasured great-grandchildren, Kaylei and Kassandra.She loved her family.She leaves behind nine treasured nieces and nephews and their off-spring, as well as first and second cousins.Jane’s children would like to thank Jennifer Beaver for helping to take such good care of their Mother for so many years. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 11 am at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg with Pastor Jonathan Nettles officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery.
