James A. Wilcoxen (Jim), 84, of Parkersburg, departed this life on May 20, 2016, at Camden Clark Medical Center. Jim was a resident of Cedar Grove Assisted Living for four years. He was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Rockland, Ohio, a son of the late Robert Wilcoxen and Clarice Wilcoxen Martin. He was a graduate of Belpre High School, class of 1950 and a Korean War veteran. Jim was employed by Johns Manville for over 40 years. He was an avid horseshoe pitcher participating in local, state and world tournaments. His daughters remember him as the "fix it Dad" and are grateful for what he taught them. Surviving are his daughters, Tina Brannon and Tia (Roger) Brown of Parkersburg and Trina Crawford of Dacula, Ga.; five grandchildren, Christie (Jeremy) Willis, Eric (Cathey) Brown, Melody (Mark) McLean, Kaitlyn Crawford and Lyndsey Crawford; one great granddaughter, Rorie Brown; one sister, Peg Dale; and a brother, Jack Wilcoxen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Helen Wilcoxen; and his son in law, Randy Brannon. As per Jim's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Parkersburg, is assisting the family with arrangements. Special thanks to the staff of Cedar Grove for the love and care given to Jim.
