James “Jim” Fetty loving husband, father, age 89, passed away at his home on March 13, 2017. He was born September 7, 1927 in Middlebourne, WV to the late James E. and Asia Fetty. He is survived by his wife Kay and two daughters, Leslie Fetty of Alexandria, VA and Kelly Fetty of Winston-Salem, NC. and his beloved cat, Tabby. He graduated from Middlebourne High School and volunteered in 1946 to serve as a medic in the US Army.After leaving the Army he went to work at DuPont Washington Works in Parkersburg, WV where he rose to become Laboratory Superintendent and later consulted with DuPont where he was instrumental in opening plants in Mexico and South Korea. Jim loved cats and tomato gardening and was a sports fan and avid golfer. He and Kay followed the career of Dottie Pepper, attending many of her tournaments. He followed WVU football and basketball, but most of all he was a die-hard Cubs fan, and lived to see his beloved Cubs win their first World Series in 108 years. The family would like to express their thanks to the following in-home caregivers Myrtle Martinelli, Karen James, Sharon Ball, Marie Modesitt, and Lora Cox, who were a source of comfort to Jim and the entire family.Their selfless devotion is deeply appreciated. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks and love to Brenda Cook, a special friend of the family for many years. Thanks also to Camden Clark Hospital, Worthington Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Health South Rehabilitation. Jim battled Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia and would appreciate donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation that supports children and the families who battle cancer.Donations may be made at www.rizzo44.com. Also, donations can be made to the Parkersburg Humane Society at www.hsop.org Friends and Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 521 5th St., Parkersburg with Pastor Tom Stephens officiating. Visitation will be on Friday March 24, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
