Howard L. Black, 65, of Mineral Wells lost his battle with cancer and passed away at his home with his family by his side on August 9, 2018. He was born November 22, 1952 in Wood County, the son of the late Harry W. and Verlena M. Loudin Black. Howard was a 1971 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and retired from E.I. DuPont after 40 years of service. He loved spending time with all his family and grandchildren who were the light of his life. He was devoted to every sport that his grandchildren participated in. Since High School, he followed the wrestling program at Parkersburg South. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Tawnda L. Black, two daughters, Rachale (Shelly and Craig) Wiggins, Krishna (Kristy) Black, both of Mineral Wells, and grandchildren, Dalton and Brodie Wiggins and Kiahna Black and Keegan Sheppard all of Mineral Wells, three brothers, Thomas (Kathy) Black, Robert (Dee) Black of Parkersburg and Jack L. (Mary) Bush of Wasella, Alaska, two sisters, Carol Lynch of Mineral Wells and Donna J. Johnston of Denver, Colorado, two brother-in-laws, Ronald B. Lynch of Mineral Wells who was like a brother and Denis C. White of Parkersburg. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Donald W. Bush. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 4 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Evangelist Elvis Galbreath officiating. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be from 12:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. also on Saturday, August 25, 2018.
