Hershel Lester Lowers

Hershel Lester Lowers, 86, of Parkersburg, passed away suddenly at Camden Clark Medical Center on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. He was born on June 1, 1933, in Parkersburg, WV, and is the son of the late Okey John Lowers and Icie Mae Nichols Lowers. Hershel worked for many years as a lay minister and was Baptist by faith. He enjoyed martial arts where he was a brown belt, loved reading and listening to his radio. Left behind to cherish his memory, is his sister Roxie Ann Achors of Parkersburg and a special friend of 20 years Chuckie Payne of Parkersburg; nieces, Tammy and Paula. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. Funeral services will be Monday, October 28, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Kimes Funeral Home 521 5th Street Parkersburg, WV 26101. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour to the service. In lieu of flowers, Chuckie would like donations made to the Blennerhassett Friends of the NRA at 2005 Dutch Ridge Road, Parkersburg, WV 26104.
