Helen Josephine Szabo-Sarver

Helen J. Roney Szabo-Sarver, wife of Glen E. Sarver of Colgate Dr. Marietta, passed away at her home on March 13, 2019. She was 94 years old. Born November 18, 1924 in Washington County, to Josie Robinson, and Bernard Park Roney. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1942 and worked at The Safe Cabinet Company until her marriage to John Szabo in 1947, who proceeded her in death in 1981 after 34 years of marriage. After Johnny’s death in 1981, she went to work for Hallmark for 12 years. In 1990 she married Glen Sarver who survives with 2 sons: Timothy J. Szabo (Karen) of Paisley, FL, Ted R. Szabo (Eve), and one daughter, Nancy J. Szabo, step-son Larry Sarver (Susan) and step-daughter Janine Eddy (Tom), all of Marietta, also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 5step-grandchildren; Kelly Shields (Cody) of Fort Benning, GA, Erin Turner of Marietta, Nicole Szabo of Marietta, Christina Wichert (Don) of Wisconsin, Jennifer Szabo of Cleveland, Ohio, and Stephanie Neonakis (Nicholas) of Coral Gables, FL.,Alicia McIntire (Guy), Luke Eddy, Jon Sarver, Ben Sarver, and Janet Lim (Dan). She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John, a brother Tom Roney (KIA in WWII), a sister Martha Fullerton, sister Ruth Wilson, and several nieces and nephews. Per Helen’s request, there will be no visitation. Cremation with burial in Valley Cemetery.
