Helen Mae Lucas

Helen Mae Lucas, 89, of Parkersburg passed away on December 9, 2015 at Cedar Grove Personal Care Home. She was born December 15, 1925 at Spencer, WV a daughter of the late James Garfield and Lilly Mae Barnes Roberts.She was a graduate of Spencer High School. She was a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital and was a member of Stephenson United Methodist Church, being very active in church activities.She was also in the Cadet Nursing Corp during World War II. Surviving is her husband Walter Kenneth “Ken” Lucas of Parkersburg, her son, Robert Lucas of Parkersburg and his Fiancee’, Amy Phelps of Belpre, Ohio and her daughter, Cathy and her husband Scott Paul ofHuntersville, North Carolina.Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Anne Lucas, Amanda Lucas, Eryn Thompson and Katrina Lucas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Lucas, two brothers, Howard and Homer Roberts, and two sisters, Anna Garrity and Geraldine Himelright. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 521 5th St., Parkersburg, WV with David and Leslie Turley officiating and burialfollowing at Evergreen South Cemetery.Visitation will also be on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home.
