Albright, 85, passed away after a brief illness February 25, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.She was born July 21, 1933 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Edward C. and Helen Smith Gerwig. Mrs. Albright was elected to City Council where she served as Council President.She served as Parkersburg's Mayor from 1990 to 1994.She was co-owner and Treasurer of Belpre Furniture and was a member of Parkersburg Junior League and P.E.O. Chapter Q.She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and was a lifetime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was instrumental in saving the Smoot and served as a volunteer there. Mrs. Albright is survived by her children, Cathy Whitlatch (John), Fredrick P. "Rick" Albright, Jr. and Mary Beth "Edna" Albright, all of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Allan Lantz (Missy), Andrew Lantz (Kaylynn) and Elizabeth Arinsmier (Alex) and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death on May 7, 2011, by her husband of 58 years, Frederick Patrick Albright and by two sisters Marjorie Mehl and Jane Wharton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M., Saturday, March 2, 2019 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father John Rice as Celebrant.Services will conclude with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.The family will receive friendsThursday from 5-8 PM and Friday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Ave., Parkersburg.The recitation of the Rosary will be at 8 P.M., Friday.
