Gregory Jay Davis, 63, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his residence. He was born Sept. 19, 1950 at Parkersburg, a son of the late Harold T. and Laura Lee Greathouse Davis. Greg had been a certified welder and construction worker and was a member of Teamsters Local #175.He had operated the Wheel Club for several years and later was the owner of Davis Computer Sales & Service. He was a licensed real estate agent and a Notary for many years. He had owned his own stock car and enjoyed racing.He was a former member of the Elks Club and the Moose Lodge and had attended New Hope Baptist Church.He had served in the United States Navy Reserves from 1969 to 1971. He is survived by his daughter, Kelli K. Gribble of Washington, W.Va.; a son, Brett D. Davis; a sister, Kimberlea K. Davis; a brother, Jeffrey Scott Davis, all of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Taylor K. Gribble, Paige L. Gribble, and Isaac C. Gribble; and his special feline friends, Leo and Squeak. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary C. Gribble. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg with Pastor Tim Burch officiating.Military rites will be conducted by Parkersburg American Legion Post 15. Interment will follow in Parkersburg Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
