Heaven gained a beautiful angel as Gladys Sloan Hale, 98, passed into the arms of her heavenly father and Savior on February 15, 2020. Gladys was born in Belleville, WV February 3, 1922, the oldest daughter of Lyndsay and Mae Monroe Sloan. She married the late Rev. Ernest C. Hale October 1, 1943. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary before he passed in 2010. Gladys dedicated her life to supporting her husband’s ministry and her love of God. She was a long time member of Vienna Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Gladys was a gracious woman who brought a smile to the face of everyone she came in contact with. She was blessed with an amazing mind for 98 years and had an ability to remember even the slightest detail. Gladys resided in Ohio Valley Health Care her last 10 years of life where she made too many close friends to name them all. She truly appreciated those friendships! Clay Sloan; niece, Ruth Moss and husband Jim; nephews, Max Sloan and wife Jan, Gene Riel and wife Valory, Dale Sloan and wife Denise; and several great nieces and nephews; very special friends, Mark Hall, Terri Furr, Linda Harvey, Patty Foggin, Marty McFee who always kept Gladys looking beautiful, and many others who loved her. Myers (Joe), sister Mary Reil Weidner (Arnie), brother John Sloan (Orpha), sisters- in- law Geraldine Sloan and Irene Hale and nephew Doyle Sloan (Teddy) Funeral services will be Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Kimes Funeral Home 521 5th Street Parkersburg, WV 26101 with burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
