George Harris

George Harris, 88, of Parkersburg, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 in the Arbors at Woodsfield, Ohio.Mr. Harris was born in Wyatt, WV, a son of the late John G. and Mable E. Brown Harris. George retired from DuPont as an instrument mechanic, was a member of Parkview U.M. Church and served two years in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Franklin Aircraft Carrier.He was a charter member of both the Washington Lions Club and the Blennerhassett Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Clepper-Harris; one sister, Mary Neal of Houma Louisiana; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Connie and one son, Max. Funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family with burial in the Mount Calvary Cemetery near Morgantown, WV.In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the charity of choice.
