George Wiliam Ahart

November 9, 1938 — September 10, 2015

George William (Bill) Ahart, 76, of Belleville, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2015. He was born on Nov. 9, 1938, in Plains City, Ohio, to George Edison and Dorothy Yoho Ahart. Bill grew up on Kanawha Hill on Rt. 47. He drove truck for Citizens Building Supplies, Rutherford Trucking, Criss Concrete, Arrow Concrete and On Target Concrete and retired from Smith Concrete. He took joy in preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus and was currently serving as Pastor at Fannin Chapel Family Center in Sherman, W.Va., which supported him greatly during his affliction. He enjoyed cleaning the farm and running his chain saws during his twelve years of retirement. He is survived by his wife, Linda of 52 years; three sons, Ed (Donna) Ahart, Daniel (Sherry) Ahart and David (Diana) Ahart. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Julie Fujita; and the extended North Carolina family; three grandchildren, Jordan (Kyle) White, Katie Ahart and Marvin Ahart; two sisters, Mary Nolan and Linda Affolter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Ahart; and his sisters, Patricia Montgomery, Evelyn Nolan and Janet Ahart. A public worship service to celebrate his homegoing will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Pleasant Home Cemetery, with Pastor Ed Leisure officiating and burial following. Friends and family may gather at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 12 before the service to visit with Bill's family.
