Geneva B. Snyder

Geneva Belle Johnston Snyder, 80, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Eagle Pointe Nursing Center. Geneva was born December 12, 1938 at Reinersville, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Malissa Bise Johnston. Geneva had spent most of her adult life caring for others.She had served as homemaker for Horizons Center for Independent Living and Wood Co. Senior Citizens. She had also been employed at Worthington Manor and Ohio Valley Health Care.She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and Jefferson Baptist Temple and had enjoyed fishing, camping and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter,Angela Christine Acors (Mike) of Parkersburg; a step-daughter, Doris Faye Gillis; step-son, Gary Snyder (Nancy) of Parkersburg; six grandchildren;and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Francis E. "Pete" Snyder in 1998; two sisters, Jessie Jane Shirey and Esther Louise Lafferre; seven brothers, William, Fred, Charles, John, Levi, Gilbert and Arley; and a step-son, Rodney Snyder. Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Ave., Parkersburg.Pastor Dan Stephens will officiate and interment will be in Evergreen North Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
