Gay M. Rogers

Mr. Gay M. Rogers, 89, of the Murphytown Community, passed away at his residence November 13, 2018.Mr. Rogers was born at Rowelsburg, Preston County, WV, a son of the late William A. and Emily Ethel Johnson Rogers.His wife, Mary V. Funk Rogers, whom he married August 24, 1950, survives. Mr. Rogers retired in 1990 from the former Kaiser Aluminum Company.He had excellent mechanical skills and enjoyed repairing a variety of items.He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid hunter and fisherman with special memories of his Canadian fishing trips.Mr. Rogers was a former member of the WV National Guard. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by two daughters, Melissa J. Hawke of Parkersburg and Tallinne M. Rogers of Elizabeth, WV; two sons, Gregory M. "Greg" Rogers and wife Sherri of Thornton, WV and Robert W. Rogers of Murphytown; one sister, Leona Wilson of Kingwood, WV; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and his Cocker Spaniel "Mattie".He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. The Vaughan Funeral Home and Crematory, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg is privileged to serve the Rogers family with their request for cremation.
